Wednesday letters: Honor Flight a memorable trip

I would like to thank Lexington Medical Center for sponsoring the Honor Flight tribute to World War II and Korean veterans on May 22. We got to see not only our memorials, but many others in the Washington area as well.

On our return to Columbia, we were met by a large crowd of people at the airport: Scouts, young people, relatives, friends and other veterans. It was truly a rewarding experience to be thanked for our service to this country.

Thanks and a special salute to the people of Columbia and neighboring cities for a trip we will never forget.

William J. Sebnick
