South Carolina’s lieutenant governor is extending a helping hand to his Republican North Carolina counterpart.
Lt. Gov. Henry Master is hosting a fundraiser for North Carolina’s Lt. Gov. Dan Forest at his Columbia home on Oct. 11.
Forest is running for re-election this year in a state that has become a tightly contested battleground between the two parties.
The two presidential candidates are neck-and-neck in North Carolina opinion polls, and the state’s Republican Gov. Pat McCrory – who is elected separately – is in a fierce fight for re-election against Attorney General Roy Cooper. GOP Sen. Richard Burr is also facing a strong challenge from Democrat Deborah Ross.
