COLUMBIA

S.C. residents have been given a little more time to register to vote in November because of office closures related to Hurricane Matthew.

Would-be voters now have until midnight Sunday to submit online registration applications, including emailed applications.

The S.C. State Election Commission also will accept mailed registration applications that are postmarked by Tuesday.

Voters can register in person at county voter registration offices until Saturday, the previous deadline for all applications.
