Cayce voters on Tuesday re-elected the city’s first woman mayor and its only African-American member by comfortable margins.
Elise Partin received about 2,100 votes to former city manager Johnny Sharpe’s roughly 1,200, according to unofficial totals from City Hall.
Incumbent Councilman James “Skip” Jenkins won a third term by overcoming challenger Robert Lampley by about 250 votes, according to city figures.
Council’s newcomer will be Tim James, the city’s former public safety chief, who defeated Cayce community activist Chris Kueny. The unofficial margin is 220 votes.
