The procurement review panel meets this week to settle a dispute between a state agency and an South Carolina-based contractor.
The S.C. Patients Compensation Fund -- which pays medical malpractice claims in excess of $200,000 -- hired Modus21, a Mount Pleasant-based company, to set up a new billing and membership management system.
But state officials are unhappy because the new system does not work well.
Company officials say they did everything they were asked to do.
The Procurement Review Committee -- made up of seven people appointed by the governor -- will try to resolve the dispute.
