The Joint Bond Review Committee meets Tuesday to approve $555 million in road spending, including $10 million to redesign Columbia's dreaded "Malfunction Junction" interchange of I-20 and I-26.
The money comes from a loan the state will take and pay back over the next 15 years.
The State Transportation Infrastructure Bank Committee has already approved the spending. The JBRC is the final step.
But there will not be any drama. Sen. Hugh Leatherman is a member of both the Infrastructure Bank board and the JBRC.
And he's the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.
He usually gets what he wants.
