Columbia pastor Ray Moore reportedly will endorse former S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster in the GOP runoff for lieutenant governor in Greenville on Thursday.
Moore, who ran to promote his plan to take students out of public school and put them into home and church schools, finished last in the four-candidate field with 8 percent of the vote. McMaster led all vote-getters with 44 percent.
The other two candidates -- retired Charleston developer Pat McKinney and Columbia businessman Mike Campbell -- are headed to an automatic recount after each receiving 24 percent. McKinney led Campbell by 1,250 votes.
The winner of the GOP primary faces Democrat state Rep. Bakari Sellers in the general election.
