With a great big “GRRRRRR,” a baby Tyrannosaurus rex stomped into the Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday morning to publicize “Walking with Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular,” a live show coming to Columbia in October that depicts the life of prehistoric creatures.
The baby T-rex actually was manned by a human puppeteer. The others in the show, coming Oct. 7-11, require more than one person to operate.
The show took six years to create; among the 17 creatures roaming the stage is a 36-foot high - and 56 feet from nose to tail - brachiosaurus. The show is based on the popular BBC series.
Tickets go on sale Friday. For details, call (866) 4SC-TIXX or www.coloniallifearena.com.
