The president tweeted, “I heard poorly rated @Morning Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came ... to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!"
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of Seneca was one of several in Republicans who criticized Trump for his comments.
Graham tweeted, “Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.”
U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, R-North Charleston, called on Republicans to get back to focusing on legislative priorities. “The American people need us to be focused on health care and tax reform, not Twitter fights and cable news.”
Brzezinski shot back on Twitter with her own critique of the president’s physique. She tweeted an image of a Cheerios box with the printed slogan “Made for Little Hands.”
