S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley announced a new director Monday at the state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
Emily Farr, an attorney at the Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd law firm specializing in employment law, will succeed Richele Taylor, a labor and employment attorney whom Haley appointed to run the agency in December 2014.
Farr, whose appointment must be confirmed by the state Senate when it returns to Columbia in January, starts Aug. 17 as interim director.
Taylor, who was paid $124,973 a year running the agency, is joining the governor’s staff as her chief legal counsel.
