The relatives of a man who pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct in 2006 were charged with hiding him for 10 years before his capture August 1, 2017.
Thomas Ferguson, 68, was to report for jail in September 2006 after pleading guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd degree, the warrants released by SLED stated. Instead, he went into hiding in Anderson County allegedly with the assistance of his wife, Debra G. Ferguson,61, his brother, Robert T. Ferguson, 67, and a cousin, Alvin Ray Burdette, 58, SLED said.
Thomas Ferguson was captured in Travelers Rest earlier this month. He is currently being held at the Kirkland Correctional Facility.
His three relatives were arrested and charged in Anderson County on Tuesday with unlawful escape and harboring or employing an escaped convict.
