New Miss SC to be crowned in Columbia soon. Here are the details

The Miss South Carolina competition returns to Columbia this week for the 15th year.

There are 43 contestants from various South Carolina cities, counties, universities and organizations.

Preliminaries for Miss South Carolina begin Wednesday featuring onstage questions, evening wear and fitness. Talent preliminary is at 7 p.m. Thursday. The events will be held at Township Auditorium.

A five-judge panel will select Miss South Carolina 2025 on Saturday. The competition will air live beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday on Sinclair Broadcast Group stations — WACH in Columbia, WCIV in Charleston, WPDE in Florence-Myrtle Beach, WLOS in Greenville.

Preliminary tickets are $59.50, final $87.50 and all events $254.95.

State winners will move on to the Miss America competition in September at The Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, Florida.

Davis Wash of Edgefield is the current Miss South Carolina. Her program focused on supporting children of incarcerated individuals.

Judges this year include Dr. Carrie Lee Davis Cousar, Miss South Carolina 1992 and a radiologist; Abby Whitener, a chef and director of Miss Arkansas’ Teen; Rachel Kroes, a casting agent; Scott Deckert, an actor whose mother was a former Miss Wisconsin and Mark Everett, a three-time Olympian and world-record-holding middle-distance runner.

The Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization was founded in 1936 and now offers close to $300,000 in scholarships.
