It was disgusting to read the article on the Oct. 30 front page (“DUI charge against legislator tossed”) about the drunk-driving charge against Ted Vick being dismissed. How can a person learn from his mistakes if he is cleared by a technicality in the law?
We have lawmakers and judges who think they are above the law. Shame on you Todd Rutherford, Mr. Vick’s attorney, and Magistrate Josef Robinson for such a poor example of obeying and enforcing the laws of South Carolina. I just pray that neither one of them gets in Mr. Vick’s path the next time he gets on the road drunk. Quoting my sister-in-law, “It makes me sick.”
