I’m a Gamecock fan. You will not see me wear orange or cheer for Clemson. Nevertheless, I believe that Clemson has some good qualities:
1. Football coach Dabo Swinney shares his faith in Jesus.
2. The fans are “all in” Annoying as it is, I do appreciate the passion.
3. The team gives back to the community, through charity.

The article that calls the dance at the Clemson ladies’ clinic a striptease is ridiculous (“Striptease and half naked football players part of Clemson event for female fans, video shows”). The focus should have been on the fact that the event was put on to raise money for breast cancer, rather than what happened at the event.
I know the woman in the video. She is a woman whose family has faced heartbreak in the past year, yet she still has great faith in Jesus. She is a mother and grandmother-to-be.
I hate that this newspaper has caused her more heartbreak through this article. No one deserves that kind of treatment.
We are supposed to love our neighbor, even our Clemson neighbor. Let’s try to keep the South Carolina-Clemson rivalry on the football field.
The State publishes a cross section of the letters we receive from South Carolinians in order to provide a forum for our community and also to allow our community to get a good look at itself, for good or bad. The letters represent the views of the letter writers, not necessarily of The State.
