Richland Northeast defensive end Chris Bonds (6-4 283) said Sunday he has committed to Alabama.
Bonds said he made his pledge to his recruiter Burton Burns and will be talking with head coach Nick Saban Monday. Bonds narrowed his decision to Alabama and Notre Dame.
He missed most of this season with a knee injury returning to action this past Friday in a playoff loss at Northwestern.
"Everything just fell into place," Bonds said. "With me getting hurt, they kind of stuck it out with me through thick and thin. I'm a big fan of their nose guard and how he anchors the line. Coach Burns talked to me about playing defensive tackle and defensive end."

And of course, Bonds is caught up in the current success of the top ranked Crimson Tide and the promise of more success.
"The day I was leaving from my official visit, there was a picture of all the players they signed last year and I saw that and thought this team has a really good future," Bonds said. "When you look at that, it's saying a lot about the recruits. It says a lot about coach Saban. Talking to coach Saban was one of the biggest highlights of my life. It's really a great honor to me."
