NASCAR: Dickies 500 lineup, info

WHERE: Fort Worth, Texas

WHEN: 3:15 p.m. today

TRACK: Texas Motor Speedway

TRACK LENGTH: 1.5-mile oval

RACE DISTANCE: 501 miles, 334 laps.

THREE THINGS TO WATCH

1. If Danica Patrick attempts next season’s ARCA race at Daytona, there will be more media attention on that race than any other in that series’ history. Also, there likely will be more media attention on her performance than in most of her IndyCar Series races.

2. Earlier this week, I called out drivers who went to NASCAR over the weekend at Talladega and asked that it strictly police bump-drafting in the corners, then disappeared from view in the wake of the fan backlash. Jeff Gordon admitted Friday he was one of the drivers. Now, where are the others?

3. Anyone who thinks Jimmie Johnson is going to “mail in” the final three races to capture his fourth consecutive championship has paid no attention to any of his career.
