Shrine Bowl QB Donny McElveen II (6-3 190) of Summerville will enroll this summer at Clemson as a preferred walk-on.
McElveen made an official visit with the Tigers over the weekend and accepted the offer from Dabo Swinney to join the program and compete for a scholarship down the road.
"It was great, I had a blast," he said of the visit. "Everybody got along and every one was real sincere. They did everything just like they were supposed to (for a recruited prospect). Clemson just felt like the right place. I'll be redshirted my first year and get to know the system and put on some weight. Coach Swinney said he'll give me a chance to compete."
McElveen had early offers from Central Florida, East Carolina and Middle Tennessee. He also talked with USC about walking on.
