DB Nigel Knott (5-11 175) of Madison, MS wrapped up a tour of schools in the Southeast Wednesday with a stop at Clemson. Knott hasn't been offered by Clemson yet but he does have offers from the likes of LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Florida State, Miami, NC State, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UCLA and Southern Cal.
Knott said he had to leave Clemson before their practice Wednesday to get back on the road but he did get to see a lot of other things before leaving. Knott said he went on a tour of the campus, met with an academic adviser and sat in on the team meeting before they went out for practice.
"Mainly just the family atmosphere," Knott said about what stood out to him. "We saw that everything was based around family and they kind of just a made a point of that too. They were talking to me about it also."
Knott remains interested in Clemson despite not having an offer from the Tigers, and he has reason to feel one may come sooner than later.
"They told me I am a perfect fit for what they are looking for, aggressive and stuff like that," Knott said. "They said to keep in touch and basically stuff like that."
Knott also visited Tennessee, NC State, Duke and North Carolina on this trip. He also plans to visit TCU and Texas A&M. He said he doesn't have any favorites yet because he hasn't decided yet what criteria he will use to separate the schools from one another.
Last season Knott had 112 tackles with 4 interceptions and 16 passes broken up.
