President Donald Trump wasn’t going to save the pleasantries for after Monday’s speech to celebrate Clemson’s College Football Playoff title.

Trump took to calling up various players throughout his speech, starting with quarterback Deshaun Watson and then turning to wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, who caught the game-winning score against Alabama. Both came up for handshakes and a few words with the 45th President of the US.

Later, Trump called up linebacker Ben Boulware and lineman Carlos Watkins, and with the burly defenders flanking him, he asked, “You think I could take these guys in a fight? I don't know.”

President Trump said no one can read defensive plays better than former Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware. Boulware was named the defensive MVP in the team's championship win over Alabama.
