Defensive end Jordan Williams makes the call for Clemson
Clemson took a major step Saturday in replenishing its defensive end position with a commitment from highly regarded Jordan Williams of Virginia Beach, Va.
Williams (6-5, 250) drew more than 30 offers and narrowed his choice to Clemson, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech. He visited each over the spring and summer, with Clemson getting the final visit for the All-In Cookout last month.
Williams is considered a prototypical pass rusher off the edge. Last season he totaled 11 sacks along with 55 tackles.
“Coaches like my motor and my physicality,” Williams said. “They like how I use my hands. They also say I have excellent speed and am quick off the line.”
Williams is the second defensive end commitment for Clemson in the 2017 class and the 12th commitment overall.
