Webb leads Presbyterian to 38-24 victory

CLINTON | Tim Webb threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Presbyterian to a 38-24 victory over Fayetteville State on Saturday.

Webb led the Blue Hose (1-1) on two fourth-quarter scoring drives as they rallied from a four-point deficit. Fayetteville State fell to 1-1.

Presbyterian took the lead for good on Travis Caldwell's 4-yard run with 9:44 remaining in the game. The touchdown capped an 18-play, 98-yard drive that consumed 6:58.

The Blue Hose added another score on Chetyuane Reeder's 1-yard run with 4:18 remaining.

Webb hit Reeder on a 39-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and connected with Terrance Butler for a 23-yard score in the second. He also scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter.

Webb was 19 of 35 for 280 yards and was intercepted once.

Richard Medlin led Fayetteville State with 79 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 20 attempts. His scoring runs covered 3, 5 and 1 yards.

His 1-yard run gave the Broncos a 28-24 lead with 8:48 remaining in the third before Presbyterian rallied.
