Ranking the new crop of SEC QBs

Johnny Manziel, Aaron Murray, A.J. McCarron and Connor Shaw had to be replaced, but new stars have emerged. Rating the SEC QBs a third of the way into the season:

1. KENNY HILL (Texas A&M)

Own nickname (Kenny Trill) after performance vs. USC.

2. DAK PRESCOTT (Miss. State)

Had statement game (105 yards rushing) in win vs. LSU.

3. BO WALLACE (Ole Miss)

Has thrown for more than 1,000 yards, 9 TDs.

4. DYLAN THOMPSON (USC)

He’s been super with 1,140 yards passing and 11 TDs.

5. BLAKE SIMS (Alabama)

Beat out Jake Coker, completing 73.2% of passes.

6. MATY MAUK (Missouri)

Ranks second in the nation with 14 TD passes.

7. NICK MARSHALL (Auburn)

Still a great runner and is an improved passer.

8. PATRICK TOWLES (Kentucky)

6-foot-5 soph. has thrown for 916 yards, 5 TDs.

9. BRANDON ALLEN (Arkansas)

Has been solid for 3-1 Hogs, thrown one pick.

10. HUTSON MASON (Georgia)

Doesn’t throw with much zip on his passes.

11. JUSTIN WORLEY (Tennessee)

Passing for 240 yards per game as a senior.

12. ANTHONY JENNINGS (LSU)

Fans calling for backup Brandon Harris to start.

13. JEFF DRISKEL (Florida)

Stock still dropping; 93 yards passing vs. ’Bama.

14. PATTON ROBINETTE (Vanderbilt)

Completed 4 of 5 before being knocked out vs. USC.
