Alaina Coates has it twice as nice after being named SEC Player of the Week for the second straight week.
South Carolina’s senior center continues to average a double-double for the season after she scored 17 with 14 rebounds in an 83-59 drubbing of then-No. 4 Louisville. She also tied a career-high with four steals.
The No. 3 Gamecocks’ crushing of St. Peter’s saw Coates post 16 points and seven rebounds in just 19 minutes.
Coates is averaging 16.6 points (seventh) and 12.8 rebounds, which is the best in the SEC. She is second in the country with a .729 field-goal percentage and her rebounding average is third.
