Julie Sarratt and Nickie Blue combined for South Carolina’s 11th shutout at home this season as the Gamecocks (26-14) defeated Campbell 2-0 Tuesday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Chelsea Hawkins and Olivia Lawrence drove in runs for USC.
Sarratt (12-9) picked up the win by tossing four innings, striking out six and allowing one hit and one walk. Blue earned her fifth save of the season with three innings of scoreless ball, giving up two hits and two walks while fanning three.
The Gamecocks' win gives them 20 home victories for the first time since 2007.
South Carolina heads on the road for the final time in the 2014 regular season to face Arkansas in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern at Bogle Park.
