South Carolina linebacker Rodney Paulk was been suspended by the SEC for the first half of the Vanderbilt game due to a helmet-to-helmet hit last week against Kentucky.
SEC Commissioner Mike Slive reviewed game tapes and conferred with South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier and Athletics Director Eric Hyman.
According to a news release from USC, Slive said the decision was necessary help ensure player safety.
