How do you like playing both fullback and tight end?
It's good. It gets me moving around a little more. It gets me more involved. I can't complain. It gets me more plays.
I'm more familiar with fullback. I've played it for four years now. I'm going with tight end, too. It's good, too.

Being a senior, what goals did you have this season?
I knew we had a good team and a lot of opportunities. Being a senior and a captain, I talked to some of the guys: "This is our year. This is my senior year. This is the last chance I have. Let's give it a real go. Let's go and give it 110 percent." Seems like so far we've got that mentality. We need to tighten up in a few areas. We've got a good season going so far.
What creates mental toughness?
You just have to know your assignments, know what you're doing. Just be familiar with the defenses. It takes another hour, maybe an extra 30 minutes in the film room to totally understand what they're going to do to put yourself in a position to succeed.
Pleased with your career overall?
So far it's been all right. I want something special to happen while I'm here. Not just myself but the team, I want to leave a legacy, something to be remembered. I hope we can do something really special and put Gamecock football on the map.
Biggest thrill in your career?
You can always say beating Alabama was pretty big. I would probably say Kentucky my freshman year when we beat them. They were ranked No. 6 and we were ranked 10 and it was on a Thursday night. That was the loudest I've heard the stadium. It was a good time.
Is this game a gut-check time for the team?
Yes. Kentucky and Vandy have always given us a tough time. We just need to overcome it and go out there and play our game.
The perception vs. Kentucky was that the offense couldn't perform without Marcus Lattimore. Is that the case?
We had backs last year that played in the same situation so it shouldn't really affect us. But last game it did. We kind of got out of our play-calling a little bit because Marcus went down. We're fine. We have two other backs who can go in there and play just as good as Marcus can.
Expecting Kenny Miles to do well this week?
Yes. Kenny did it last year. He was our leading rusher last year. Hopefully he goes out there and struts his stuff.
What's different about playing on the road?
It's just not a home atmosphere. We don't have as many fans. It's just not as comfortable. You're not in your own locker room. It shouldn't be an excuse to go out there and lose a football game.
How high are the stakes now in the SEC East?
Every game here on out, we've got to out there and win. You take one game off, it could depend on if we're playing for the SEC or not. Each game from here on out is a fight.
