South Carolina’s football uniforms are the ninth-best looking among the SEC’s 14 teams, according to a new ranking by CBS Sports.
CBS is ranking the football fashion of each Power 5 conference. Writer Tom Fornelli was first up with the SEC.
Fornelli wrote this about the Gamecocks: “Unlike Missouri and Vanderbilt, when South Carolina wears black, I think it looks good. Mostly because of the way the black uniforms are highlighted with garnet and white. Garnet just looks good with black. What I don’t like is when South Carolina goes with a mono-chromatic look with the garnet and white. If you’re wearing the garnet jersey, go with white pants, and vice versa. Also, stick with the white helmets. Those are the best ones.”
Florida took No. 1 in the rankings, while Missouri was last. See the full rankings here.
South Carolina unveiled this season’s uniform combinations at the spring game. The combinations available with garnet, black and white jerseys and pants increased with the addition of black matte helmets to the rotation with the traditional white and the garnet lids the team wore most of the spring.
USC inked a 10-year deal with Under Armor in February worth $71.5 million.
