Deebo Samuel didn’t make it to Monday’s round of media interviews, but he has shown up on the South Carolina practice field this spring, his teammates said.
“He’s looking good,” Gamecocks quarterback Jake Bentley said. “It’s great to have him back out there. He’s a really important player for us, going to do big things so it’s great to have him out there leading our receivers and really doing good.”
Samuel is practicing in a yellow, no-contact jersey so far this spring but he has been fully cleared medically after leg and foot injuries that kept him out of the final 10 games of last season. The senior had six touchdowns in the three games he played last year, including two 97-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns.
“He’s looking good,” sophomore receiver OrTre Smith said. “It’s more depth and more explosiveness.”
