South Carolina junior wide receiver Bryan Edwards, who led the Gamecocks with 64 catches for 793 yards last season, was out of pads at Tuesday morning’s practice due to a shoulder injury.

Edwards is expected to be fine but the timetable for his return is unclear. Quarterback Jake Bentley said earlier in the week that Edwards was hurt when he landed awkwardly, adding that he expects the wide receiver to make a full recovery.

Tailback Rico Dowdle, who missed much of last season with a broken bone in his leg, was also not in pads.
