Quarterback Lorenzo Nunez will enter a wide-open quarterback race at South Carolina when he enrolls in June. The four-star dual-threat athlete from Kennesaw, Ga., spoke about his future on National Signing Day.

Question: What do you think of your chances to play right away?

Answer: I’m just going to work hard and just show the coaches my ability to play at SEC level, and then it’s up to them.

Question: The QB position at USC is wide-open. Do you know Connor Mitch, Perry Orth or Michael Scarnecchia?

Answer: I met them when I went to my official visit, and my other visits there. I don’t know what kind of players they are, on the field, because I haven’t seen them play before. But that’s not a big factor to me. I’m just going to go out there and try to win that spot.

Question: Have USC’s coaches talked about redshirting you?

Answer: No sir, not at all.

Question: Do you think you can handle playing right away?

Answer: Deshaun Watson did it at Clemson. To have that ability to play as a true freshman would be great.
