Conway forward Jimmy Nichols has South Carolina in his top three schools, released Tuesday.
The Gamecocks are on Nichols’ list despite not offering him but one might be coming soon. Nichols made an unofficial visit to USC last week and plans to return next month.
“He said he wanted to offer me, but it’s like being in a relationship, you don’t want to ask the person to marry you on the first date. I kind of understood that,” Nichols told Phil Kornblut. “He said he wanted to get to know me since he just started talking to me two weeks ago. He said he’s only given out two offers in the 2018 class, and that's Zion (Williamson) and Aaron (Nesmith). He said he just wanted to get to know me a little more.”
Miami and Providence are the two schools in his final three. He also will take official visits to those schools.
