Quarterback Tanner McEvoy (6-5 205) of Oradell, N.J., took his official visit to USC over the weekend and says the trip went well.
"I got to see what I wanted to see and talk to who I wanted to talk to," said McEvoy. "I'd say it went well."
McEvoy is familiar with Columbia and USC but says he had not seen the new academic center before. He came away impressed.
"I hadn't been inside of it yet," he said. "They did a real nice job with 'The Dodie' and the academic people did a good job as well."

McEvoy will receive Steve Spurrier and G.A. Mangus at his home Tuesday.
Originally, McEvoy thought he would be heading to Michigan this weekend, but he had his dates confused.
"I know I said I was going to Michigan this weekend but after I checked with the boss, my mom, I had my dates wrong," kidded McEvoy.
Instead, he will head to Michigan on January 7th, North Carolina on the 14th, and Rutgers the following week. He says it is unlikely we will commit until he completes his visits.
McEvoy did not name a favorite.
