Channing Tindall, a 2018 linebacker from Spring Valley picked up offers recently from Auburn and Appalachian State. He visited the Mountaineers last weekend. He's also been to South Carolina and Clemson for games this season.
The Gamecocks remain in steady contact.
"Coach Hutzler is great," Tindall said. "He follows my season and checks in on me as a player and a person. He lets me know that I am the type of player they need to win championships and he is ready to coach me. I often receive handwritten cards from each of the coaches including Coach Muschamp.”
He was up in Clemson earlier this month for the Pitt game.
"It was a great experience," Tindall said. "I have been in contact with the coaching staff since my freshman year, so I felt very comfortable talking to them. There was great energy from the crowd and the Clemson defense was on point. I really enjoyed getting to see Ben Boulware up close and personal during the pre-game warmup. He is a beast. I got to sit down and talk with my recruiter, Brandon Streeter, for a while. We talked about my season and the playoffs. I also got to spend some time with Coach Venables. He told me he loves my athleticism and power. He also said I look great on film and had no doubt made a smooth and natural transition from defensive end to inside linebacker. He is legendary on defense, so I try to soak up everything he says to his players."
Tindall also has been to Georgia Tech and Coastal Carolina this season. Tennessee also has been in touch recently and has invited him for a visit.
Tindall holds offers from USC, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, Mercer and Appalachian State. He's also drawing interest from Purdue, NC State, Colorado State and Cal.
