Summerville outfielder commits to Gamecocks

The USC baseball team is not only winning games, their winning the hearts of young prospects. Tuesday night junior OF TJ Hopkins (6-2 175) of Summerville announced a commitment to the Gamecocks. He was also drawing interest from Clemson after being previously committed to the College of Charleston.

This season Hopkins is batting .389 this season. Here's the scouting report on him from PerfectGame.com.

Slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, short quick path to the ball, has hand quickness and explodes hands at the ball, some loose extension out front, creates bat speed and projects for more, has some swing/miss but ball jumps hard when squared. 7.00 runner, showed his athleticism in the outfield, long arm action and will have to speed up his release, accurate throws.

Hopkins is the Gamecocks' 13th commitment for the 2015 class.
