DL Maurice Couch (6-32 75) of Garden City JC, KS is down to USC and Tennessee and will not consider any other schools. "I'm pretty much shutting it down," said Couch. "I really want to focus on those two schools."
He will take an official visit to Tennessee on November 12th and may return for a second visit to USC in January. "I like Tennessee because I know they will have my back," he said. "They have a great tradition. I like South Carolina because me and coach (G.A.) Mangus are cool. Plus, when I was a kid, I always wanted to play for coach (Steve) Spurrier."
Couch says he likes the way Brad Lawing coaches the defensive line and feels he would have plenty of opportunity to play in Columbia. So far this season, he has 45 tackles and five sacks.
He says he is likely a signing day decision and does not have a leader.
