Defensive back Kadetrix Marcus (6-1 190) of Stone Mountain, Ga., became the latest commitment for USC when he contacted recruiter Lorenzo Ward Sunday night and made his pledge.
Marcus picked the Gamecocks over offers from Clemson, Michigan State, Tennessee, West Virginia, South Florida, Stanford, Ole Miss, N.C. State and others.
Marcus attended two USC games earlier in the season and had been favoring the Gamecocks for weeks.
"That was the school that was always on me," he said. "They offered the first and stayed on me. It was the right decision in my heart to commit."

Marcus can play corner and safety, and the fact the Gamecocks deploy five defensive backs in their basic scheme appealed to him. And he likes the future of the program.
"Great things are coming," Marcus said. "The offense is doing great this year and just has to pick it back up. I see a lot of great things happening."
Marcus said his decision ends his recruiting and USC will be his only official visit.
