LB Dexter Staley (6-2 225) of Williston-Elko did not make it to the USC game this past weekend but his coach said the Gamecocks lead.
"He's got some academic work to do, but I think that he'll end up at USC if he can get it done," said Dwayne Garrick.
Staley has offers from USC, LSU, and Florida among others and continues to hear from all three schools. Garrick said that Staley is not interested in some of the other schools.
"Dexter is a good ole country boy," he said. "He doesn't know a whole lot about LSU other than what he has seen on TV."

Garrick remained hopeful that Staley will qualify.
"He really needs to buckle down after the season," he said. "He's got this semester and the next to get it done."
