With 24 commitments in hand and several highly regarded prospects remaining on the board, USC is having to notify some players it had been recruiting that there won't be room for them in this class.
That includes Darlington RB Dominique Cooper and RB Marcus Caffey of Atlanta. Both want to play running back in college and USC was interested in them only as defensive backs. Cooper has other offers from SC State, East Carolina and North Carolina Central. Caffey also has been looking at Arkansas, Purdue, Kentucky and Illinois.
USC also has pulled off LB Cedric Cooper of Lithonia, GA. Cooper has been interested in Clemson, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
