Fresh off the win at Clemson and with practice looming the rest of the week for the SEC Championship game against Auburn, several USC coaches jumped on the recruiting trail Sunday, the first day of the contact period.
Defensive line coach Brad Lawing met with defensive lineman Phillip Dukes of Manning. Dukes was at Clemson Saturday for the game. He's had the Gamecocks out front ahead of Clemson, Miami and Alabama. He's scheduled for an official visit to USC January 21st.
Lawing also met Sunday with DE Gerald Dixon of South Pointe and DL Gerald Dixon Jr. of Northwestern. He and assistant head coach for defense Ellis Johnson are to meet with South Pointe DE Jadeveon Clowney Sunday night. Lawing also is to meet with Northwestern defensive end Roderick Byers Sunday.
