Junior RB Kendrick Salley (5-10 215) of Williston-Elko likely will commit to South Carolina before the end of this week, his coach said Wednesday.
Salley was offered by the Gamecocks last week.
"I asked him yesterday, 'Are you going to wait until after the holidays?' " coach Dwayne Garrick said. "He said, 'Any day coach.' It's just a matter of sitting down and making the call. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes that call tomorrow or Friday. He's absolutely ready to call them and move on. He doesn't want to go through all the hoopla."
USC was the first offer for Salley, who rushed for 2,157 yards and 36 touchdowns this season. He rushed for 1,978 yards as a sophomore.
"He has great cutback moves," his coach said. "He'll make a great zone back. He's durable. He has big legs and is heavy from the waist down. He runs good over over his pads."
Clemson, Nebraska and UCLA are some of the other schools to show interest in Salley.
