Tight end Drew Owens of Charlotte became USC's 26th commitment Monday night.
Owens went silent for several weeks while deciding between the Gamecocks and NC State. After taking one final unofficial visit to each school for a bowl practice, Owens concluded USC right for him.
"I picked USC because it's the best fit for me," Owens said in a series of text messages. "I fit the style of play they are looking for."
Owens is regarded a good blocking tight end with good hands.
He also considered North Carolina and Michigan as he was narrowing his choices.
"I got along well with the players and coaches so that won't be a problem," he said. "I know this program can win a national championship and a SEC title."
