USC has been a strong leader for TE Kevin Rainey (6-3 210) of Yulee, FL for a few months and that remains the case even after he took an unofficial visit to Florida Saturday.
"It was good, pretty exciting," he said of his top in Gainesville. "I liked how the coaches acted when I showed up. Most think I'm strong on South Carolina, which I am."
Rainey plans to call USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. Monday to set a date for a visit this spring. He plans to visit Georgia March 26th.
Rainey has offers from USC, Southern Cal, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Florida International, South Florida, Miami, Alabama, Texas Tech and UCLA. He's been discussing with his coach when he may make a final decision. "After the spring," he said.
"It's a good chance it will be South Carolina. "I love what they have to say to me. The likelihood is pretty good but I'm going to keep my options open because I haven't been to the school yet."
Last season Rainey had 30 catches for 450 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also plays running back, linebacker and defensive end.
