Former USC commitment DE Lorenzo Mauldin of Atlanta has signed a letter of intent with Louisville. Mauldin confirmed the signing Thursday night.
Mauldin said he still has to get a qualifying test score. He said if he fails to qualify he will attend North Carolina Technical Prep School in Charlotte. Mauldin said if he has to go to prep school he will do so as a Louisville commitment but will also open things back up to other schools.
Mauldin was one of two commitments to USC who were told a couple of days before signing day they would not be signed. USC was willing to sign Mauldin later for this year's class if he qualified and if a spot opened for him.
USC took Mauldin's commitment knowing he would be close on qualifying.
