WR Avery Johnson (6-2 188) of Pompano Beach, FL committed to LSU last September and he calls that commitment "50-50" right now as he considers some of his other offers including one from USC. Johnson is the brother of former LSU star cornerback Patrick Peterson so he has a strong tie to LSU, but he's interested in checking out other options as well.
"Anything can happen and anything can change," he said. "I'm going to take a lot of visits this summer and narrow my list to five." He said those visits will include USC, Notre Dame, Miami, LSU, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, Southern Cal, Auburn and Alabama.
USC recruiter Jeep Hunter has been by to check on Johnson who says he has real interest in the Gamecocks. "I think it's a good program and it's headed in the right direction," he said.
Johnson plans to announce a final decision at the Under Armour AA Game. Last season he caught 45 passes for 600 yards and 6 touchdowns.
