USC recruiter Jeep Hunter was by Titusville, FL Monday to check on DB Favian Upshaw (6-2 170). Upshaw actually plays quarterback and has offers from Illinois, Georgia Tech, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Middle Tennessee State and Appalachian State for that position.
But USC sees him more as a safety. "Coach Hunter wants me to come and play defensive back for him," Upshaw said. "But he didn't mention an offer."
Upshaw said he'd like to play quarterback in college. Last season he passed for 1500 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He plans to camp at USC, Clemson, North Carolina and Florida International. FIU and Appalachian State are his two favorites.
