USC’s lone basketball signee for 2012, 6-foot-9 Tyrone Haughton of Miami, is hoping Darrin Horn will be his coach in the fall.
Haughton said he last heard from the staff about a week ago when he talked to assistant Neill Berry. He’s in the dark about Horn’s future with the Gamecocks.
“I hope he’s staying because he’s a good man,” Haughton said. “I honestly don’t know (what’s going to happen).”
Haughton does know one thing. He still wants to be a Gamecock.

“I think I’ll stay with them because I like the town and everything,” he said. “My coach said stay with it and meet the new coach, and if you don’t like it, transfer. I plan to enroll and honor my letter of intent.”
Haughton committed to the Gamecocks over offers from Alabama, Virginia Tech and Marshall.
He was not sure about his stats from this season but though he averaged about 10 points and 9 rebounds per game.
