WR Jonathan Rumph of Holmes JC, MS has offers from several schools including USC, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech, LSU, Nebraska, Baylor and Iowa State.
He plans to take his official visits to Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia and Arkansas but says the Gamecocks are still in play for his services. He will not take an official visit to Columbia because he is already familiar with the school. He had been weighing the pros and cons of attending USC.
"They keep telling me they want to keep in the picture and that's a good thing," he said. "It's close to home and my family could watch me play and a big-time SEC program. They're still building and I'd like to be a part of that. The problem is that there could be a lot of distractions being back home and I don't want anything to side track me from achieving my goals."
Rumph may also take an unofficial visit to Texas Tech. He plans to begin his trips this September when the football season begins.
As for favorites he said, "I am keeping an open mind about every school. I just want to find the best fit for me." He does not have a favorite.
