6-8 PF Darryl Reynolds of Philadelphia made an official visit to USC Sunday thru Tuesday with his mother. Reynolds, who attends Worcester Prep in Massachusetts, said the visit moved the Gamecocks to the top of his list right now.
"I would say South Carolina is out front but I still have to take more visits," he said. "My mind might change any second, but it seems like the best situation. I really enjoyed it. I like the direction the school is going in with all the new facilities. But what stood out the most was how genuine coach Martin and his staff and the players were. What you see is what you get."
Reynolds will visit Utah this weekend and will take trips to Seton Hall and Villanova before making his decision. He visited St. Bonaventure last year before deciding to attend the prep school but is no longer considering the Bonnies.
Reynolds weighed 225 pounds at USC and plays the four. "I'm very mobile for someone my size," he said. "I can shoot from anywhere on the floor."
Reynolds attended Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania before going to Worcester. At Lower Merion, he drew some comparisons to the school's most famous alum, Kobe Bryant. "I didn't break any of Kobe's records," he said. "I heard I have have broken his blocked shots record."
Reynolds said he won't make a decision until after his visits.
