WR Shaq Davidson of Gaffney visited Auburn last Saturday and came out of the weekend listing the Tigers even with USC as his favorites.

But Gaffney coach Dan Jones talked with Davidson on Tuesday and said he still favors the Gamecocks.

"From the get go he's had a lean to South Carolina," Jones said. "He's always liked South Carolina. They started recruiting him the earliest. I think he just wants to make some visits."

Davidson informed Jones Tuesday he has dropped Georgia from his list. Jones said Davidson will visit Tennessee June 14th or 15th and he thinks Davidson will make a visit to Florida State. And Ohio State has been trying to get him to visit as well.

Jones' hope is that Davidson will finalize his plans before the season.

"I think I'm going to help him move along in that process," Jones said with a chuckle. "I'm going to tell Shaq that this (recruiting hype) sounds good, but it isn't any good."
