LB Daniel Fennell of Loganville, GA saw his senior season end last Friday night so he's not turning his attention toward his recruiting which is heating up. USC, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke and Missouri have emerged as his top schools and he hopes to make a decision this month.
USC recruiter Kirk Botkin contacted Fennell via Twitter Tuesday morning and is expected to visit him soon. "He was just checking up on me," Fennell said. "I have a real good feeling about South Carolina. I really like South Carolina. I had a real good visit. The coaches are real cool. It looks like a good fit."
Fennell made an unofficial visit to USC for the South Alabama game. He has an official visit with the Gamecocks set for January 23rd. He's also down for a visit to Georgia Tech December 13th and the Yellow Jackets are in good shape with him, too.
"I"m real good with Georgia Tech," he said. "Coach Ted Roof is a real cool guy. He's real smart. We've talked forever. I like Tech, but I like South Carolina."
Fennell said none of the head coaches have set in home visits with him at this point.
